OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. - The Oakland County Medical Examiner says he found the bullet wound on the back of David Widlak's neck by physical examination and not with the help of any high-tech machine.
After the discovery of the wound during an independent autopsy conducted at the request of the family, Dr. L.J. Dragovic says he used a digital x-ray machine to find the lead fragments.
Dragovic goes on to say he believes all the controversy over the Macomb County Medical Examiner, Daniel Spitz missing the gunshot wound has gotten way out of hand. "Everyone makes mistakes", says Dr. Dragovic and Spitz admitted it and took a second look at the body to make it right.
Dr. Dragovic says he has the utmost respect for Dr. Spitz and he hopes this one incident doesn't have any lasting consequence.
Finally Dr. Dragovic says he is ruling the death of the Bank President a homicide but can't rule out the possibility that the fatal gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
The Macomb County Board of Commissioners has asked Daniel Spitz to come before them on November 10th to anwser questions regarding the autopsy of David Widlak.
