MILFORD, Mich (WXYZ) - Milford police are investigating a fatal accident  that killed a woman during an early morning car crash. It happened on Milford Road south of General Motors Road.

At approximately 5:39 am the Milford Police and Fire Departments responded to the area after receiving a 911 call from a passing motorist. It was reported there was a serious injury accident involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, it was determined two vehicles were involved and they had been traveling in opposite directions on Milford Road. 

A 38 year old female Milford resident was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17 year old female White Lake Township resident was transported to Botsford Hospital with non-life threatening orthopedic injuries.

Milford Road was closed to through traffic for several hours as the investigation proceeded. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. There was dense fog throughout the region at the time of the crash and alcohol is suspected to have been a factor.

Milford Police were aided in the accident investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team. Joint resources will continue to be used to determine the exact cause of the accident. There were no other cars involved and no other injuries.
