Once again, it’s time for Channel 7’s “Viewer Mail.” Our editorial about the battle over broadcast spectrum and free, over-the-air, local television, prompted a lot of support.
Susan Rundel writes:
“I am on a very fixed income and cannot afford cable or a dish. My television will be used to watch DVD’s if the powers to be decide to do away with free television. …I will be contacting my representative.”
Another viewer writes:
“I absolutely, wholeheartedly agree that free broadcast TV should always be available.”
Olivia Wylie of Ann Arbor sent us this message:
“Well done and well said! I agree entirely with keeping public, the realm of TV that is watched by millions of people who get their
…news and weather via this method.”
Another viewer sent us a lot of messages but his feelings can be summed up with a line he repeated often:
“The U.S. government is clearly out of control.”
And finally, this comment from Thomas Wilson, Jr.:
“Watching local television was fine before cable came along with its “money grab.” I guess we’ll be paying to get some sunshine next.”
That's it for now. Thanks for writing and watching.
