(WXYZ) - A Saturday night house party spiraled out of control quickly inside a home in Rochester Hills along the 1600 block of Bretton Drive.
According to Oakland County deputies, they got a phone call close to 5:00 am. They say the call was muffled, but they could hear that someone needed to go to the hospital.
“When the deputies arrived, a car was seen leaving from the home,” said Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard.
A 16-year-old girl, who is from Royal Oak, had been taken to the hospital already.
According to police, she had the drug LSD in her system and possibly other drugs, too.
There were several teens hanging out at a house party when it happened. It’s not clear whether she chose to take the drugs or if she was drugged.
“We’re looking into exactly how she got these drugs in her body, who put them in the situation, or if she was able to get her hands on them--if it was voluntary,” said Sheriff Bouchard.
The homeowners were on a vacation at the time of the incident and have been cooperating with police.
Deputies are trying to track down who could have supplied the girl with powerful drugs that could have taken her life.
“Obviously it is something that is very, very concerning to us,” said Sheriff Bouchard. “We want to get to the bottom of who put this in the hands of this young girl.”
Sheriff Bouchard wants parents to be warned cases like this one do happen.
“A lot of cautionary tales,” said Sheriff Bouchard. “Parents, first and foremost… know where your kids are going, who they are going with, and what the plan is. Secondarily, to anybody… if it’s voluntary in that situation, don’t take some drug-- especially a drug that you have no idea of the outcome.”
The girl is in critical condition and the sheriff says they are still investigating this case and they're hoping anyone with any information will call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
