(WXYZ) - State officials will be investigating what could be crumbling concrete that fell from a freeway overpass and into the window of a van driving underneath.
A piece of concrete went through the windshield on the passenger side. The driver was alone when it happened on southbound I-75 just before I-94 at 4:30 Friday morning.
The man worked for a company called Premium Transportation Enterprises in Detroit.
The owner of the company Kevin Williams says his driver was being treated in the hospital for glass fragments in his eyes but he was able to pull over to the side of the road and call him after the accident happened.
State officials tell 7 Action News they do regular maintenance on overpasses, but these kinds of incidents happen. And people can file a claim with the state to cover damages.
