(WXYZ) - Police say a pug that was stolen from a yard in Dearborn on Wednesday has been found.

Family of the pug was able to get the license plate number off of the pug-napper's car and detectives cracked the case.

Police say they tracked the pug to a house and found the dog covered in waste.

Sandy Boulton, public relations director for Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter, says the pug was taken from his yard on Wednesday morning in Dearborn on the corner of Dartmouth and Dudley.

Gus is a 7-year-old male pug with a black and tan coat. His family was extremely worried when their pug was stolen because they say he needs daily medication.
