(WXYZ) - Police have busted a suspected carjacking ring at a house on Whitney Street in Detroit.
Detroit police say armed robbery suspects led a scout car on a police chase before they ditched the vehicle and ran into a home.
Police said the suspects were armed and dangerous and a standoff ensued for several hours.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig said seven people were arrested including two women. Craig says officers found three guns and believe the suspects were involved in three violent carjackings that happened recently.
Today was Chief Craig's first day on the job as Detroit police chief.
