(WXYZ) - A police situation happening on Detroit's west side ended with a man taking his own life.
The activity happened in the 1500 block of Elm Street near the MotorCity Casino Hotel late Monday night and into Tuesday morning.
Police say, bail bondsmen were carrying out an arrest warrant out of Warren for attempted murder when the suspect reportedly locked himself in a house and armed himself with a weapon.
Responding officers say they talked with the suspect who indicated he was not going back to jail.
As officers stood by, a gunshot was heard. Members of the Special Response Team entered the house and discovered the 25-year-old male was deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the body.
