WARREN (WXYZ) - A 21-year-old man and his 19-year-old buddy, both from Detroit, are the suspected carjackers that led Warren Police on a high speed chase Monday around 12:30 am.
Both are accused of stealing a Cadillac CTS at gunpoint from an 38-year-old Eastpointe man around 6:30 Sunday morning.
Warren Police spotted the Cadillac near Eight Mile Road and Dequindre.
The 21-year-old suspected carjacker was driving the stolen car and when he got onto I-75 he peeled off, driving over 120 mph.
Police dash cam video shows officers trying to keep up but the fleeing suspects are well off into the distance.
The suspect drives onto the Davison Freeway and exits at Woodward Avenue. And when police catch up to the suspected carjackers, you see on the video that they've hit another vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.
We're told the man who was hit while driving his red Suburban sustained some injuries including a broken leg.
Both suspects were also injured and had to be extricated from the Cadillac.
Warren Police recovered two handguns they believe were used in Sunday's carjacking.
