WXYZ Detroit - Is Detroit Emergency Manager Kevin Orr headed for a legal showdown with Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette? And will Schuette's plans to stay in the political limelight have anything to do with his courtroom defense?
In a recent in-depth interview, Michigan's top law enforcement official told me he is prepared to challenge Orr all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if he attempts to cut the state protected pension of Detroit retirees. Orr has said that reducing pay outs from the more than $3 billion underfunded Detroit pension funds may have to be part of the solution for balancing the city's financial books.
Attorney General Schuette also weighed in on his political future and next year's wide open race for retiring U.S. Senator Carl Levin of Michigan.
You can see my entire interview with Bill Schuette on Sunday, October 6 at 9:30 am on Spotlight on the News.
