WXYZ - On New Years Day 2012, Spotlight on the News featured a smorgasbord of guests and topics.  The program began with Sarah Earley discussing the new Belle Isle Conservancy, followed by O’Neil and Linda Swanson talking about the importance of investing in Detroit, and then concluding with 9 year old author MaKinlee Black revealing why she wrote the book, The Lonely Kid.

Now in it's 47th season, Spotlight on the News is Michigan's longest running weekly news and public affairs program. It airs every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on WXYZ-TV/Channel 7.
