(WXYZ) - Tonight, at 9:50, there will be a Powerball drawing with a jackpot set to reach $250 million, according to the Powerball lotteries official website.

According to lottery officials, the one-time payout would be around $167 million before taxes.

The Powerball drawing has not had a winner in over a month, which has resulted in the massive prize.

Convenience stores across the nation are expected to be crowded today with people buying tickets for a chance to win the jackpot.

In Michigan there are over 1,200 lottery retailers.

It costs $2 for a ticket and a chance to win the multi-state lottery mega-prize.

The Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

If there is no winner tonight the money will roll over to this Saturday's drawing.
