SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Rania Hijazi, who is eight months pregnant, is accused of driving drunk with her 10-month-old baby in the car.

Hijazi, 37, was arrested by Southfield Police after she crashed her vehicle into a street sign on Southfield Road near Jeanette Street around 3:30 a.m. Memorial Day.

In court, Hijazi told Magistrate Donna Posey that her husband works but she needed a court appointed attorney to represent her against charges of Operating While Impaired and Child Endangerment.

Police say Hijazi failed field sobriety tests and it was revealed that she registered .14 with preliminary breath tests.

There are no reports of injuries in Monday's crash.

Hijazi lived in Clawson but told court officials that about a month ago she moved to Dearborn with her husband and children.

Hijazi's bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
