Rabid skunks found in Royal Oak

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Two rabid skunks on the move in the city of Royal Oak have been found and destroyed and it's prompting police to issuing a warning to residents.

Police say they found the animals in the 1700 block of Maxwell and the 200 block of Dewey after getting a number of calls from homeowners.

The skunks were caught and euthanized.

Police say if you come in contact with a suspected rabid animal, leave the area immediately and call police.
