(WXYZ) - Detroit police say a 16-year-old boy was shot after an Osborn High School basketball game on Detroit’s east side.
Osborn's basketball team was playing against East English Village Preparatory Academy. When the game was over, several spectators went across the street to play a pick-up game in a field off school property, according to police.
Police say it was there that a fight ensued and someone pulled out a gun, fired and hit a 16-year-old above his knee cap.
Police say the boy’s mother has taken him to St. John Hospital for treatment.
Investigators say they questioned some young people after the incident, but no one was taken into custody.
