(WXYZ) - A 72-year-old man was arraigned on multiple charges after Detroit Police discovered a dismembered woman in a bathtub inside an apartment.
The Wayne County Prosecutor charged Alphonso Jackson with Disinterment of a Body, Tampering with Evidence and Concealing the Death of a Person.
The victim's body was found May 3 around 5:00 a.m. after police responded to a report that Jackson was reportedly carrying something that looked "bloody."
When the officers arrived they observed blood on the sidewalk, inside the lobby and in elevator of the building.
Officers then discovered a dismembered black female in the bathtub at the Phillip C. Sims Apartment building.
The woman was reportedly in her 40s.
Jackson was in the kitchen and was placed under arrest.
He was arraigned by video in 36th District Court. Bond was set at $2 million dollars. His next court date is scheduled for May 14.
