DETROIT (WXYZ) - A Detroit mother is mourning the loss of her baby daughter after she’s killed in a house fire Saturday.
Akira Perkins-Williams was overcome by smoke inhalation after a fire ripped apart a home in the 12000 block of Promenade. The 9-month-old infant was being watched by her mother’s friend’s mother.
“She means everything to me,” said Tiffany Perkins, the girl’s mother.
Witness say four children under the age of four were thrown out the window as firefighters tried to save their lives.
At this time it’s unclear what caused the fire.
