Local bar to hold fundraiser for Officer Patrick O’Rourke’s family

DETROIT (WXYZ) -   

Detroit’s Stone House Bar will be holding a fundraiser for the family of Officer O’Rourke on October 7.

O’Rourke was shot to death while responding to an incident that was sparked by Ricky Coley on September 9. He was the first police officer killed while on duty in West Bloomfield Police Department history.    

Officer O’Rourke is survived by his wife and four children. Communities across the metro-Detroit area have shown respect and support for the family.    

Mike Jeppesen, a retired Detroit police officer, owns The Stone House Bar. Jeppesen will have a $15 donation at the door, 50-50 raffle and live music.  100 percent of the proceeds will go to Officer O’Rourke’s family.

Shield’s Pizza of Southfield and owner Jeff Valdez, former Bloomfield Township police officer, will provide the food.

Fundraising will start at 2 p.m. and last until 10 p.m. The Stone House Bar is located on 19803 Ralston St. Detroit 48203.

Officer O’Rourke was shot to death while responding to a barricaded gunman situation on September 9.

He was the first West Bloomfield police officer to be killed in the department's history.

Officer O’Rourke is survived by his wife and four children. Communities across Detroit and the metro-Detroit  have shown an outpouring of respect and support for the family.    

The owner of the Stone House Bar, Mike Jeppesen, will host the fundraiser. He is a retired Detroit police officer. A $15 donation will be accepted at the door. There will also be a 50-50 raffle and live music. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Officer O’Rourke’s family.
