DETROIT (WXYZ) -
Detroit’s Stone House Bar will be holding a fundraiser on October 7 for the family of Officer Patrick O’Rourke, who was killed in the line of duty.
Officer O’Rourke was shot to death while responding to a barricaded gunman situation on September 9.
He was the first West Bloomfield police officer to be killed in the department's history.
Officer O’Rourke is survived by his wife and four children. Communities across Detroit and the metro-Detroit have shown an outpouring of respect and support for the family.
The owner of the Stone House Bar, Mike Jeppesen, will host the fundraiser. He is a retired Detroit police officer. A $15 donation will be accepted at the door. There will also be a 50-50 raffle and live music. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Officer O’Rourke’s family.
Shield’s Pizza of Southfield, whose owner Jeff Valdez is a former Bloomfield Township police officer, will provide the food for the fundraiser.
Fundraising will start at 2 p.m. and last until 10 p.m.
The Stone House Bar is located on 19803 Ralston St. Detroit 48203.
