(WXYZ) - Detroit Police have raided a home featured in a video with Detroit rapper Young Calicoe.

During the Wednesday raid police and the Michigan Humane Society removed animals that were shown in the video from the property. Many people were concerned that the video promoted dog fighting and animal abuse.

Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee says that was in fact what was going on at the home. "We're very confident that we shut down an operation that is not contributing to the quality of life of this neighborhood," Godbee said.

He went on to say, "I want to thank the media for the attention that you brought to this because the humane treatment of animals ... It is very important to us and some of the conditions that we saw, without going into detail, gave a lot of credence to support what, I think, is going to be a prosecutable case going forward."

In the five minute video, Young Calicoe appears to be encouraging dog and cock fighting. However questions are now being raised that it was all just a publicity stunt?

Fighting both animals is not only cruel, but illegal in Michigan.

You can watch the video in in its entirety below.
