DETROIT, Mich (wxyz) - A 16-year veteran Detroit police officer is speaking out about the interim police chief and the scandal surrounding Chief Ralph Godbee.

Police Officer John Bennett says he is a personal friend of Godbee. He says he will pray that Godbee gets the help he needs.

Bennett says this scandal just adds to the stress of what is going on right now in the police department--with cutbacks and longer hours. He also says this is an embarrassment.

As for Interim Chief Chester Logan, Bennett says he is well-liked and respected, and he thinks he will do a fine job.  He says Logan is quiet, but strong and steady.  Logan has been with the Detroit Police Department for more than 40 years.
