DETROIT (WXYZ) - Two teens were injured in an accident shooting at the Detroit Target fireworks Monday night.

More than 700-thousand people poured into Downtown Detroit and on to Belle Isle to watch the Target Fireworks and there is no question they were spectacular.

Detroit Police say two teenagers, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Preliminary reports show the through and through wound to the 14-year-old in the upper thigh was self inflicted and accidental. It happened near Beaubien and Atwater at about 10:10 p.m.

Police tell Action News the teenage girl was standing at the same corner and hit in the leg by a ricocheted bullet. They believe the incidents to be related.

Beyond that, there were a handful of arrests of young people in that same area running, fighting and causing trouble for patrons trying to enjoy the fireworks show.

Both gunshot victims are expected to be ok.
