Annual Ribs 'n' Soul music festival returns to Downtown Detroit this weekend

(WXYZ) - The 17th Annual Ribs 'n' R&B Jazz Fest will host thousands of rib lovers who will eat, drink, and shop while enjoying the soulful sounds of local and national acts.
Downtown Detroit will have the best barbeque this side of the Mississippi August 10, 11, 12, 2012. On Sunday, August 12th, chefs from around the country will smoke, grill and season ribs to perfection during the tasty Rib Cook Off. This year, 15 grillers will compete for the Best Ribs and Best Sauce title.
Acts scheduled to hit the stage this year include Detroit's own L.J. Reynolds, the Dramatics and Al B. Sure. This year's Ribs 'n' Soul music fest will also feature a gospel showcase, a musical tribute to the late Whitney Houston, a health expo, an African village and a kid's zone.
The festival hours are:
Friday, August 10th: 11am - Midnight
Saturday, August 11th: Noon - Midnight
Sunday, August 12th: Noon - Midnight
