DETROIT (WXYZ) - The murder rate for Detroit in 2012 was 386.

We're going behind the numbers and speaking with families who have been left heartbroken. Why is the murder rate so high? What can be done to reduce it? How does Detroit compare to other major cities? The process is agonizing from the crime scene to the morgue. It happens way too often in Detroit, sometimes more than once in a day.

What is it like for those who perform all those autopsies and the investigators who have to see the families when they come to identify their loved ones?

We will show it all to you, but we also search for answers from city leaders. What can the people who live in Detroit, and even those who don't, do to help bring the murder rate down. How can we stop this culture of crime?

Join us for special reports on Friday at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
