DETROIT (WXYZ) - Hundreds of people were expected to ride through the streets of Windsor to honor former Red Wing Bob Probert. A few dozen bikers began the “Bob Probert Memorial Ride: In Memory of #24, The Enforcer” from Detroit before heading to Windsor.
Probert’s widow, Dani, and several friends organized the inaugural event to raise money for the cardiac department at the Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor.
The beloved Red Wing player died unexpectedly last July from a heart attack at the age of 45.
Former teammate and longtime friend, Chris Chelios led the pack of riders while Probert’s Harley motorcycle guided the way through the streets of Windsor.
Dani Probert says she hopes to make this an annual event.
