DETROIT (WXYZ) - A body was found floating in the Detroit River near Hart Plaza on Thursday afternoon.

The body was located in the river east of the Renaissance Center at Rivard. 

A Detroit Fire Department chief at the scene says it was black male somewhere between 50-60 years old.

Officials tell 7 Action News they are currently treating the area as a crime scene.
