DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police are currently on the scene of a body found outside a school on the east side.
Detroit Police homicide investigators are at Turning Point Academy on Detroit's East Side, where a body was found this morning.
According to DPS spokesperson Steve Wasko, a cab driver dropping a student off this morning saw the body on the school's side yard.
The victim appears to be a male in his 40’s and may have suffered some sort of blunt force trauma.
Wasko says the victim does not appear to be connected to the school in any way.
The district brought in additional security to keep students away from the scene. Additional police officers are at nearby Brenda Scott Elementary, and Osborn High School.
Turning Point is a school for special needs students. It has 103 students ranging in age from 8 to 26.
