DETROIT (WXYZ) - Witnesses tell police they heard someone yelling, "Police!" while banging on a door. It was not police.
The door opened, and in barged several people. There was then a shooting in a home in the 14,000 block of Marlowe near Grand River and Hubbell.
Detroit Police say a 35-year-old woman was killed and a 12 year old child injured during a double shooting on Detroit's west side this morning.
Police are looking for the shooter or shooters.
Police say this is the sixth time in recent weeks that someone has impersonated police while committing a crime. It is a disturbing trend they plan to take action to stop
Police say often it happens as someone tries to break into a home. They say if you hear someone yelling police outside your door, and are at all suspicious, call 911.
