DETROIT (WXYZ) - Police sources are telling 7 Action News that the body found in a home on Detroit's west side by a city of Detroit salting crew is that of a young mother.

We are being told that police have informed family members that the body is that of Dynasty Myles, a 23-year-old mother who disappeared on New Year's Day .

Myles was last seen at around 10:00 pm at Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn. Myles had left her young child with her parents at the time of her disappearance.

The body was found shortly before 10:00 am Tuesday at Log Cabin and the John C. Lodge Service Drive. The area is littered with abandoned homes, with only one family living on the block.

Officers say the crew spotted a trail of evidence that led them to an abandoned home. They aren't saying exactly what the evidence was. However, they say it was enough to make them believe that Myles had been dragged inside the house against her will.

The body was found on the first floor of the house. Police are not commenting on how long it may have been in the house.

The investigation is ongoing and an exact cause of death has not been determined, but police are treating the case as a homicide.

Anyone with information about either the disappearance of Dynasty Myles or today's discovery of the body on Detroit's west side is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAK-UP
