DETROIT (WXYZ) - A local couple tied the knot in the middle of the Occupy Detroit protest.
The bride and groom, Stan Guarnelo and his finance Brook Gross were married in Detroit’s Grand Circus Park with family, friends and the Occupy Detroit protesters in attendance. The bride's daughter walked her down the aisle.
Stan and Brook say they wanted to have a traditional wedding but could not afford it. That's when Stan's mother suggested the couple make a small statement with their wedding.
Occupy Detroit is part of the international effort upset with Wall Street's power over the economy.
Mr. and Mrs. Guarnelo say their wedding is more romantic than anything they ever imagined.
The newlyweds say even though they support the Occupy Detroit movement, they do not plan to honeymoon with the protesters.
