(WXYZ) - Another overhaul is coming to the DDOT bus system.

Starting March 3, late night/early morning bus service will be discontinued.

DDOT buses will no longer run between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.

In addition to that adjustment, the following route changes will also be implemented:

  • Route 11/Clairmount - weekend service only will be discontinued
  • Route 46/Southfield - Sunday service only will be discontinued
  • Route 78/Imperial Express - - route eliminated
  • Route 49/Vernor - Service will end at Rosa Parks Transit Center

Public hearings will be held on Friday, February 24 at two locations:

Northwest Activities Center

18100 Meyers Rd., Detroit

Morning Hearing: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Evening Hearing: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Wayne County Community College

5901 Conner St., Detroit

Morning: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Evening: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

DDOT says the changes are necessary to keep in step with the budget and will help keep the cost stable for customers.
