(WXYZ) - DDOT bus drivers will meet with Mayor Dave Bing this morning to discuss their contract and those proposed layoffs.

A board member with the bus union tells Action News, 78 drivers and 60 mechanics could be out of a job come Friday.

Union members are worried there won’t be enough drivers to run the current routes if that happens.

Starting March 3, DDOT will end its overnight service. Buses will no longer run between the hours of 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.

The union would like to see the layoffs delayed until that new schedule goes into effect.
