DETROIT (WXYZ) - This year's Detroit Cinco de Mayo celebration included a unique twist, in addition to the annual parade and party.
A special ceremony was held to bless the Low Rider Cars. The blessing took place at Bagley and 21st Street following the parade.
For those not familiar with Low Riders, they are heavily modified vehicles that often include hydraulic systems that raise and lower the cars. They also feature other creative modifications, like stylish and unique paint jobs.
Low Riders have a long history in many areas of the country, including southern California. They are beginning to show up in our area in greater numbers.
