DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit's City Council today is interviewing a nominee for the new Financial Advisory Board that will be keeping an eye on Detroit's finances.
Bob Bowman is the joint nominee of Governor Rick Snyder and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing.
Bowman is a former state treasurer and currently runs Major League Baseball's mlb.com website.
He lives in Northern Michigan and said he would forgo the $25,000 payment to each of the nine members of the Financial Advisory Board.
Council is also interviewing Ramona Henderson Pearson for one of the slots. She is one of council's own nominees.
She is a former auditor general for Wayne County and former emergency financial manager for Highland Park.
She has lived in the city of Detroit for more than 30 years and currently runs The Pearson Group which focuses on financial and retirement planning.
Council is expected to vote Wednesday on some of the candidates who have been interviewed.
City Council must sign off on the nominees.
