DETROIT (WXYZ) - Crews in Detroit battled a two-alarm fire Monday morning in a multiple-story apartment building.
The fire broke out around 3 a.m. in the five-story apartment on the 700 block of Whitmore near Woodward and McNichols.
Several fire trucks responded to the fire that crews say began in the 5th floor stairwell.
Residents were temporarily evacuated but have since been allowed to return to their units.
Firefighters say no one was injured but witnesses report one man was hit in the head by falling debris and taken to the hospital.
