DETROIT (WXYZ) - A Detroit man could face life behind bars for allegedly attacking a couple in need of help on New Years Eve.
Police say Howard McKnight, 22, attacked the couple on Findlay and Bradford when their car got stuck in the snow.
McKnight allegedly pulled a gun on the 56-year-old woman and her husband.
Officers believe the kept the gun pointed at the man while sexually assaulting his wife. Investigators say the suspect got away with $280 and the woman’s jewelry.
McKnight was arrested on January 10. He appeared by video arraignment in 36th District Court where he was charged with nine counts, including armed robbery, kidnapping and first degree criminal sexual conduct.
He is scheduled to be back in court on January 22.
