DETROIT (WXYZ) - Public safety is the focus in Detroit today. Mayor Dave Bing is holding a news conference regarding a major public safety initiative.
During the news conference, Mayor Dave Bing announced that six police mini police stations have reopened. Two additional mini stations will be opened by the end of the month and several more will reopen by March.
Mayor Bing says this will increase police presence in Detroit neighborhoods.
The mayor says the mini stations will get the community involved and engaged and give residents a better sense of security.
