(WXYZ) - Embattled Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee didn’t get more than a few steps off his plane before he was greeted by a swarm of reporters – the chief isn’t saying much.

Asked about his alleged affair with Angelica Robinson and whether he'll resign over the allegations, Godbee repeatedly said "no comment" and said that he needed to consult with his attorney.

Godbee, who was suspended Tuesday by Mayor Dave Bing, was returning home from a police conference in San Diego, California.

The chief's downward spiral began to unfold publicly after the mayor announced the suspension.

Godbee’s alleged affair with Robinson, who works in the department's internal affairs section, was exposed on Twitter over the weekend. Robinson tweeted suicidal messages, angry because she believed Godbee was attending the police conference with another woman.

Our sources say Godbee has no immediate plans to resign, but the situation remains fluid.
