DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police are on the scene of an injured child on Rochelle, east of Hayes on the city's east side.
The incident was originally thought to be a shooting. However, officials now say the child placed a bullet on the stove. The bullet then heated up and discharged, with shrapnel hitting the child in the throat.
Neighbors are telling 7 Action News that a 9-year-old was home with his 14-year-old sister when the incident occurred.
