(WXYZ) - Detroit police are investigating the murder of a young man after his body was found outside their communications center on Lyndon Street.

Sources confirm that the victim was discovered by an employee on their way to work. The person called 911.

The victim appears to be a teenager. A neighbor tells Action News that he heard multiple gunshots about 2:30 a.m.

The neighbor says he is surprised  a murder would occur so close to a police facility.  There are several video cameras visible outside the heavily fenced facility.

The detectives will be reviewing the video to see if it can lead to the young man's killer.
