DETROIT (WXYZ) - Sources are telling 7 Action News that a barricaded gunman is in custody in Detroit. He was taken into custody shortly after 9:30 am.
Detroit Police say a member of the Special Response Team was injured at the scene of the incident at Gladstone and 2nd Avenue, near the Hamtramck border.
The situation began shortly before 3:45 am Saturday morning. A woman reported being shot by a man inside the home. She was shot in her leg.
The source tells us there were 3 people in the home at the time the call was made. The victim's friend was able to get out of the house.
Around 8:30 am, police were able to take a female into custody. According to an eye witness, the woman walked out and began hurling anything she could find on her patio towards the armored police vehicle parked in her front yard.
As she got towards the end of the patio officers came in behind her and took her into custody.
Sources are telling 7 Action News the woman punched an officer in the eye, injuring him. However, he did not require medical attention.
The man was taken into custody shortly after 9:30 am when Special Response Team members took the man into custody.
