DETROIT (WXYZ) - Detroit Police Department investigators have returned to the city park where a visitor found body parts earlier this month. They are again searching Eliza Howell Park.
Back on July 11, police said an explorer on a butterfly trail found what appeared to be part of a leg with a knee replacement. Sources told 7 Action News you could clearly see the replacement parts.
About a hundred yards away, what appeared to be an arm was also found in the park.
At the time, sources told 7 Action News that garbage bags were found near a ravine with what appeared to be more remains in them. The bags was reportedly spread over a large area.
Evidence technicians used lights and a generator at the scene in early July. The Wayne County Medical Examiner came as well.
Police said it would be up the Medical Examiner to determine whether the remains were the skeletal remains of a person, the age, gender and how this life ended.
