DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Science Center is reopening today with a new name; the Michigan Science Center.
Doors opened at 9 a.m. and remain open to the public until 5 p.m. Visitors will have access to all exhibits, theaters and attractions including the feature attraction 'BODIES HUMAN: Anatomy in Motion.'
Ten million dollars in debt forced the Detroit Science Center into foreclosure in September.
But thanks to a long list of donors including the Big Three, the Michigan Science Center purchase the building, land and exhibits.
General Motors donated at least $1 million. Ford, Chrysler and Nissan helped out as well.
New additions and renovations are still in the process of being finalized.
