DETROIT (WXYZ) - Mexicantown Fiesta Center in Southwest Detroit will host its annual “ Dia de los Muertos ” celebration.
Day of the Dead is a cultural event that sets aside a day to honor and remember the deceased. The practice dates back over 5,000 years. This year's celebration will take place October 30th through November 2nd.
The Mexicantown Fiesta Center is located at 4114 W. Vernor Hwy. Highlights for 2013 will include 7 exhibits, lectures, videos and an outdoor “ Panteon” gravesite where visitors may place names on tombstone to remember their loved ones that have passed away.
