(WXYZ) - A Detroit police sergeant has been arrested in connection with recent crimes involving men claiming to be DPD officers.
The sergeant works at the 12th precinct. He was taken into custody as he was going in to work Saturday night.
In recent weeks there have been at least two incidents where victims were stopped by men in unmarked cars saying they were Detroit police officers. In both incident the victims were then robbed.
In an incident last Sunday, one man reportedly had his nose broken by the men who claimed to be police officers.
In a separate case earlier this month a man says he was pulled over by an unmarked car out of the blue and was then robbed by three men who said they were cops.
Detroit police had said that the men involved were "fake cops", but with the arrest of the sergeant, their investigation has clearly taken a turn.
