DETROIT (WXYZ) - 7 Action News has learned that former Detroit City Council Member Monica Conyers is back in the city just in time to spend the holidays with her two sons and husband.
She is in a halfway house on the city's east side where she can get supervised release to be with her family and to look for a job.
She is married to Detroit Congressman John Conyers who declined to comment to 7 Action News today about his wife's homecoming.
Conyers plead guilty to taking bribes while on the City Council and is still under supervision by the feds until May 16, 2013.
She made headlines many times before going to prison with her feisty style including calling fellow City Councilman Ken Cockrel "Shreck" during a council meeting.
