Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick questioned about rumored Manoogian Party and stripper's death

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick spent five and a half hours at the U.S. District Court in downtown Detroit where lawyers questioned him about the investigation into the rumored Manoogian Mansion party and the death of slain-stripper Tamara Green.

Kilpatrick was transported to the court house from federal prison in Milan for Thursday's deposition.  Kilpatrick will have to come back for another couple of hours of questioning.  No date has been set. 

Exotic dancer Tamara Greene was shot to death in 2003. It’s been rumored that Greene danced for Kilpatrick during a never-proven wild party at the Manoogian Mansion. It has also been alleged that the former mayor’s wife, Carlita Kilpatrick, assaulted Greene at the rumored party.

Attorney Norman Yatooma ,who represents the Greene’s family, told Action News he has been waiting years for the chance to depose Kilpatrick—but he does not expect to get a lot of details since the former mayor is now charged with federal tax and fraud crimes. Yatooma says he expects Kilpatrick to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights.

Action News reported earlier this week that Kilpatrick’s wife and father are now planning to plead the Fifth so they don’t incriminate themselves in their upcoming depositions in the Greene case.

Earlier this week, an affidavit surfaced from biker Wilson Kay, Jr., who says he was at the rumored party. Kay said in the sworn statement that he and other bikers were providing security to the former mayor at the alleged Manoogian party. He also said that Attorney General Mike Cox was at the party, which Cox denies. Kay has a criminal record dating back to 1997, including five felonies that involve, breaking into cars, arson and gun possession.
