DETROIT (WXYZ) - Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is making a third attempt to get out of federal prison before his sentencing.
According to the request, Kilpatrick says he was not able to spend any "meaningful time with his family," due to the "rigors of trial and the parole."
The judge on the case has already rejected his requests two times.
Kilpatrick is being held at the federal prison in Milan awaiting his sentencing in the city hall corruption case.
He was found guilty on 24 charges and faces up to 20 years or more behind bars.
