DETROIT (WXYZ) - A federal jury has found former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his friend, contractor Bobby Ferguson, guilty on multiple counts including racketeering and extortion.

However, the jury could not come to a decision on the racketeering charges against Kilpatrick's father, Bernard Kilpatrick.

The federal jury then went on to announce the rest of their verdicts in the multiple count indictment.

Kwame Kilpatrick was found guilty on a total of 24 charges, not guilty on 3 counts and there was no decision on 3 others.

Bobby Ferguson was found guilty on a total of 9 charges and found not guilty on one count. Kilpatrick's father was found guilty on count 38 - a tax charge, found guilty on 2 counts and there was no decision on one other count.

At a bond hearing, the judge ordered Kilpatrick and Ferguson to a detention facility immediately.

Count 36 – Income Tax Evasion (2008) up to 5 years-During 2008, received taxable income: cash, private jet flights, personal expenses paid by KCF, amounting to at least $261,751

-Owed USA $85,397 for that unreported taxable income

-Concealed his income from IRS by:

a) filing a false tax return

b) causing an individual employed by his campaign and non-profits to kickback cash (Emma Bell)

c) caused the Kilpatrick Civic Fund to pay for personal expenses and concealed the payments

d) accepted $90,000 cash payment from Bobby Ferguson
