DETROIT (WXYZ) - The funeral arrangements have been released for one of Detroit's favorite Tigers fans.
James Van Horn was best known for chanting "Eat ‘em up Tigers" before Tigers' games.
He will be laid to rest this Friday in a ceremony at the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. That's on Pembroke Avenue and Livernois in Detroit.
The family hour before the funeral is scheduled for 10:00 am. The funeral starts at 11:00 am.
Van Horn and his friend "Dreadlock Mike" were killed in a hit and run accident early Saturday morning.
Police believe a small black car struck them in the area of Gratiot and Russell.
A fundraiser for the funeral costs is being hosted today by WCSX. Doug Podell will be broadcasting live from 2 until 6 from the Elwood Bar and Grill in Detroit.
Donations in memory of the two men will be given to homeless service programs.
