DETROIT, Michigan (WXYZ) - Many customers at the BP at Davison and Ewald Circle on Detroit’s west side didn’t notice anything wrong, unless they tried to go inside.
“I live in Livonia and I had to stop and get gas,” said LeeAnn Leh after putting her two young children in her car. “I brought the kids in. I went to open the door. There was stuff on the ground and blood everywhere.”
A van was parked in front of the business to try to prevent others from going inside.
Workers at the gas station told 7 Action News the business was victimized.
“Three men walked in at 3 a.m., started breaking stuff, and 1 of them got an A.K. What they want at 3 in the morning?” said a worker who wanted to remain anonymous.
Detroit Police tell 7 Action News they arrested his 20-year-old co-worker and relative. Those who know the worker describe him as a college student who works 7 days a week to support his siblings.
Police say he shot two of the men in the store, a 25 and 26-year old. Both are in temporary serious condtion.
“We’re hoping it's self defense,” said another worker. “That’s all I can say.”
